As an employer you have a legal ‘duty of care’ for the health, safety and welfare of your employees while at work, as well as that of any visitors to your premises. It is therefore your responsibility to ensure that appropriate measures are in place.

Health and safety audit and inspection

Risk Reports offers comprehensive audit and inspection services to help companies comply with the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
Our audit structure follows Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance. As well as assessing your compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, it reviews your health and safety policies and risk management system.

The audit is followed up by a health and safety inspection. This includes:

• Workplace inspection
• Interviews with employees
• Overview of compliance with health and safety legislation
• Recommendations on best practice

We then present our findings to you in a management report, which includes relevant photographs (an action plan, relevant checklists and documentation).

Fire risk assessment

One of the potential risks in the workplace is fire. Companies are legally obliged to regularly assess the fire risk and are subject to routine checks by the Fire Authority. Your company insurer will also require a fire risk assessment; any fire-related insurance claim may be invalid if appropriate safety measures were not implemented.

Written fire risk assessments are not just a legal requirement for business owners but also for landlords or managing agents of commercial or residential property. In short, if you’re ‘responsible’ for a building you must ensure it complies with fire safety law.

Our fire risk assessment, carried out by qualified fire safety consultants, will assess your compliance with the Fire Safety Order and review your emergency arrangements. You will then receive a detailed report containing our findings and recommendations, along with a fire risk assessment checklist and other documentation.
